As they continued around the crevice to reach the tower, they came across a clearing full of snakes surrounding a stone cobra statue. Most of them managed to reach the sculpture without harming any snakes and were each granted a single question. Some asked about the old lady they had met, others about Omu or their long-lost friends, and one simply wanted the best way to cook dinosaur meat. Sara agreed to give her finger to the serpent, which removed the cursed ring and rewarded her with a Dagger of Tongues.
As they approached the massive thorny labyrinth in the swamp, they decided to investigate. Ezra tried to maintain a bird’s-eye view from above while being carried by Kornelijus. However, she failed to spot a patrol of grungs rounding the corner behind them. Startled, Kornelijus accidentally threw Ezra onto the grungs, and a fight broke out. After a short skirmish, the grungs began to retreat.
Going deeper inside the maze, the party finally reached its center, where they encountered the same grungs again. The creatures congratulated them for completing the labyrinth and escorted them to a giant frog-shaped structure in the middle of the grung village. Using the dagger, Sara was able to speak with the king, a massive yellow grung, who declared it a glorious day because his wedding ceremony to the goddess Nangnang would take place that evening. He told them to assist the High Priest Krok with preparations.
