The party faced a horde of about 30 zombies, but with the help of the dinosaurs following Sara, and the surprisingly effective double taps from the guard with the “glorious glutes,” they managed to survive the battle. However, one of the dinosaurs was mortally wounded, while the other escaped. Sara later tracked it down and brought it back, while Kornelijus took a piece of the fallen Dinosaur.
Kornelijus noticed that one of the undead wore tattered robes with the symbols of Everlight. He took her holy symbol and found notes about the surrounding regions, which mentioned a giant frog-like humanoid settlement to the south, and a large tower with a fire burning atop it, inhabited by flying creatures.
Sara spoke with the guide and realized that the ring she had found was most likely cursed by the trickster god Wongo, one of the nine trickster gods who filled the void in Chult after Ub’tao went silent.
That night, Sara shared her motivations for coming to Chult with Crystal, and the party decided to explore the tall eastern tower to get a better lay of the land. On the way, they discovered a hollow tree filled with snakes, which reacted violently to the presence of Sara’s ring. Ezra summoned her phoenix-like familiar, which revealed a massive ravine between them and the tower. The party decided to detour south around it. Along the way, the familiar also spotted a vast maze hidden in the swamps.
As the group continued, they noticed a large monkey sitting by a tree, fiddling with something in its hands. When Sara approached to say hello, she realized it was actually a colossal four-armed gorilla. The gorilla hurled what it was holding toward them and began charging straight at Sara. Tuna, Sara, and Crystal quickly noticed that it had thrown a small magical wand.
