The characters get into a scruff with what turns out to be a son of one of the Merchant princes Ekene-Afa. As they easily beat him down and push him into the empty dinosaur pit to recover his debts for the debt collector. Impressed by the display a young half-elf woman named Xandala with a small wyrm-like creature on her shoulder approached them. She asked the party to help find her father Artus Cimber. The party let her join them in the jungle, yet did not reveal that they have met Artus there.
The next day just before the Dinosaur Race they were approached by an old man who spoke about a guardian of Orolunga - east of Mbala and collapsed. As he woke up he had no memory of the past day, and has no idea why he said any of these things.
Finally, the race started and while the only entrant from the party - Sara started out slowly. By the middle of the race she was able to build a significant lead and jump over the final ravine. Sara received the key to the city and an invitation from Merchant Prince Wakanga O’ Tamu.
The prince offered help in the expedition and sold some magic items at a discount. After the dinner the characters stayed at the princes villa and decided to do some exploring. In the library they found another portal that connects to the strange travel plane. They decided to keep it a secret and after annoying some guards left in the morning towards Camp Vengeance.
They were making quick progress with the canoe in the river, until one day the river in front of them froze solid and Artus Cimber ran across it, followed by a T-rex, as the dinosaur lost sight of Artus in the trees it turned towards the party.
